  1. Granite and Marble: These durable stones are a bit pricey, but add great resale value and look beautiful. Both stones can handle the heat and normal wear, however, marble can stain more easily and granite must be sealed to repel grease.
  2. Quartzite: This solid surface has a price comparable to granite and marble, but is extremely low maintenance and durable. Scratches can easily be buffed out with sandpaper making this a stress-free option.
  3. Laminate: This is an economical and versatile option, as it comes in an assortment of colors. However, it not very tolerant to heat and can dent easily.
  4. Tile: There are many options with tile since it comes in different shapes, colors, styles and patterns. However, there is a bit more maintenance involved as grout inevitable becomes dirty and stains.
